Recycle The Trash Tag

New Players- IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

How creative you all are! Great tags - even one with bread, fish and lightbulbs!! :)

Today I have a recycle challenge - go into your wastebaskets and pull out things to make a tag. We are going to Recycle The Trash for this tag! You can alter with inks and other artists supplies, but please make sure your tag is at least 90% trash!

(click for details)

The background of my tag is part of a breakfast cereal box, which embossed with a texture fade. Then I took added cutouts from a lightbulb carton, pizza box and a reminder mailer from our vet, touched it up with marker and here it is!

Be adventurous and create something out of what you threw away.

Tip: Dab the edges of your cutouts with a little ink on a sponge so that the white edges won't stand out.

I created a Facebook page for Tag Tuesday (link), but I don't think there is much interest in it. Give me some feedback please, because I don't want to promote something that there is no interest in. Thanks!

Thank you for visiting the other artists - we all appreciate a kind word (me too!). And if you want to read my Tuesday Story on my other blog, click here: A Rabbit In The Garden

HAVE FUN!

  1. What a fun idea, and a fabulous tag! I will definitely try to play along this week. Thanks for continuing with Tag Tuesday - I haven't gotten to play much lately but am hoping to participate soon. As far as the Facebook page.... I don't do Facebook, so I can't offer any help or suggestions. Good luck with whatever you decide. :)

  2. What a great theme for this week! Must go and have a look in the rubbish bin, lol, and see what we have gotten rid of. Hmmm. Or perhaps I just collect the things which we would throw away today, lol. Might be slightly less messy.
I am another one who doesn't do Facebook, I can't deal with all these social networking sites, blogging is quite enough for me. But perhaps we could have a Flickr group for the tag tuesday tags, so that we can all upload our pics to that. It would be rather lovely to be able to look back on all the tags which have been created for previous challenges.

  4. My pickings were slim since we'd just emptied the wastebaskets and carried out the trash! But what I have done is from last night's trash.

  7. This was fun. We should do it at least once a month with a specific theme for the recycling such as lovers ~ and use all recycled items. I think it would be fun.

  13. Hi Rebecca, Thanks for the fun tag idea. From now on I will always hesitate and think about what I'm tossing into the trash can. I must say your trash looks much more exciting and more colorful than mine. Your tag has so many interesting elements. XO, Linda

  17. If you recycle your stuff, then you could influence more people to follow your example by being more vocal about it. A way to let other people know about your recycling activities is to snap a picture of yourself while at work. Here's the application for doing just that. http://youtu.be/qxQn-00Rr7s
