Tag Tuesday - School Related

New Players- IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

What imaginative Recycle Tags last week! We'll do that again!!

This week, I have a string tied to the challenge - we're doing School, but the catch is, you have to pick Something Specific about school from this list: gym class, bus ride, field trip, math class, school pet, drama class, cafeteria, school uniforms, sports team, biology class, library, recess, playground, report card, lunch box, history class, Principal's office, or teacher.
You can do it!

I cut a tag out of an old report card from my stash (no, it isn't mine!) and then added a vintage boy paperdoll, also from my stash, with a small copy of a primer page, and a tiny "Big Chief" tablet (it actually has pages in it!). At the top is an ABC book charm with red and white ribbon.

I will probably keep the Facebook page and I encourage those of you who use it to post your tag pictures on it. AND I am going to create a Flickr pages just for the tags created on this blog challenge. Stay tuned!

Thank you for visiting the other artists - we all appreciate a kind word (me too!). And if you want to read my Tuesday Story on my other blog, click here: A Rabbit In The Garden

Recycle The Trash Tag

New Players- IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

How creative you all are! Great tags - even one with bread, fish and lightbulbs!! :)

Today I have a recycle challenge - go into your wastebaskets and pull out things to make a tag. We are going to Recycle The Trash for this tag! You can alter with inks and other artists supplies, but please make sure your tag is at least 90% trash!

(click for details)

The background of my tag is part of a breakfast cereal box, which embossed with a texture fade. Then I took added cutouts from a lightbulb carton, pizza box and a reminder mailer from our vet, touched it up with marker and here it is!

Be adventurous and create something out of what you threw away.

Tip: Dab the edges of your cutouts with a little ink on a sponge so that the white edges won't stand out.

I created a Facebook page for Tag Tuesday (link), but I don't think there is much interest in it. Give me some feedback please, because I don't want to promote something that there is no interest in. Thanks!

TagTuesday - Flower Pot!

New Players- IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

What a great time of year to do the Moon tags- we had such a bright full Harvest Moon this week! Thank you all!

Today the challenge is to make a tag with a Flower Pot as the focus - now don't panic! You can draw one, or draw and cut one out to make it out of something else (like I did) and when you have your FlowerPot - put whatever you would like into the pot - flowers, loaves of bread, fish, lightbulbs, think outside the pot...er, box!                 Stretch a bit!

  (click for details)

For my tag I pulled out some old wallpaper sample books I had in my stash. I found one sample which had a leather like texture, and then I cut out leaves from another sample. I altered them with stamps, inks, Gold Leaf and Micron Pens. The background is the a page from an old book, altered with background stamps and ink and distress inks along the outside. Nice zigzag ribbon and gems finish it off.

I know you can come up with even a better idea!

REMINDER: I created a Facebook page for Tag Tuesday. I will admit right away that I am not sure exactly what I am doing, but here is the link. I would love for you to "like" the page and share it with your artist friends. I think you can upload your photos to the wall page. Anyway, we can try it out and see if it goes places! We need more people to "LIKE" the page up at the top of the page! And then post on it!

Tag Tuesday - Moon! And a question for the artists.....

New Players- IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

I really loved the Heart tags from last week! You all inspire me!

This week the theme is The Moon, it can be a full moon, crescent moon, or The Man In The Moon. Make sure the moon image is prominent, although it does NOT have to be the focal point!

(click for details)

My tag is one I did several months ago; it hasn't been a great week for me but I didn't want to not have a challenge for you! I used a Steampunk stamp over some vintage background paper, added metal bits, including a little man I found many years ago and had in my stash. I added a little color to my friendly moon face and in a couple of other spots. I admit, I have a fondness for Steampunk and industrial themes!

I also wanted to say how much I appreciate all the kind comments about my art tags from you!

Now the Question for you all, What do you do with your tags after making them? For instance, I have some on display, others I have used when making a card, and some I am framing. I saw a response on someones blog last week stating that the person stopped making them because they didn't know what to do with them afterwards. So, what do you do with your lovely little pieces of art? We would love to know!

(Please answer the question in the comment section after you sign in on Mr. Linky).
