Glad to see that so many people enjoyed using the blue and green colors together last week. Hope you got to see all the lovely tags which were submitted! Some of you mentioned the old rule about green and blue not going together ("Blue and green should not be seen"). Somehow, looking at the sky and grass makes a lie out of such a silly statement! Wonderful to see your work as artists showing that in art, there really aren't any rules!
This week the theme is The Deep - as in the ocean. This is not for the sea shore, but down under the water, so please make your tag about what lurks under the waves, out in The Deep! I promise we will make a tag about the sea shore another time.

The base for my tag was actually a tag I made with rubber stamps and watercolor several months ago, but at that time I did not like where it was going so I put it aside. I was trying to straighten my studio a couple of days ago, when I came across it again and suddenly had a great idea for finishing it. I went over the stamped images with a few markers, added some more water color details, then tore apart a piece of blue origami mesh and glued it in place. Final details include two fish charms and bits of sea shells. The eye on the large fish in the background is a small rhinestone.
Thank you for visiting the other artists - we all appreciate a kind word. And if you'd like to read today's Tuesday story on my other blog, click here...
HAVE FUN!

Rebecca,
ReplyDeleteYour tag is lovely. The (rhinestone) eye is kind of spooky! I'm off to see the other tags!

I had to laugh when I saw this week's challenge, lol, as I had used the underwater theme last week for the blue and green challenge and the tag would have done very nicely for this week. But instead I made a companion piece.
ReplyDeleteI adore the very open weave fabric (?) you have used over the tag, the colour is amazing, and the fish, even though it is tiny, is the first thing your eyes get drawn to because of the wonderful colour contrast.
Hi Rebecca, I love your tag, especially the ominous eye. I've linked my tag post. I used your theme idea for another new challenge, A door tag challenge. Have a great week. XO, Linda

ReplyDeleteThat a fun and very creative tag. Love the texture and the little fish. What a fun challenge and I was inspiret by your tag. Thanks for the challenge. I love playing along.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun tag! Finally got to play along, with my new stamp set that is called, appropriately, "The Deep"! Thanks for the fun challenge!
ReplyDeleteRebecca, your tag has that element of mystery to it, which is just what I think "the deep" is, mysterious! Great job!
