Tag Tuesday - Soft Pink and Green

New PlayersIMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

It was so exciting to see what you came up with for the Spoon challenge! It's fun to stretch ourselves as artists and see things in a new way, and you did not disappoint!! Thanks for playing!

For the today's challenge, we will use the color combination of soft pink and green. Make a tag of SOFT pinks and SOFT greens and whatever image you want to use.

My tag has a bit of a history. Some of you may remember when Louise was doing Tag Tuesday, one challnge was to do a background. That tag is now the background for my image of a young girl and torn music page. I added some metal bits and a postage stamp.

Tag Tuesday - The Spoon

Wow, what wonderful Strawberry Tags you all came up with!! It really inspires me to see each and every tag - thank you for playing!

Okay, I admit this is a bit different, but let's stretch! Don't be put off by the theme this week, just give it a try! Use a spoon in some manner on your tag - it can be an actual spoon, a picture of a spoon, or a drawing of a spoon, etc. Give your spoon a wig or a hat and a dress, or make into something else. It could be a pendulum, a support for a building, something a vine grows around or even from the old nursery rhyme where the fork ran away with the spoon.

The background for my tag is from a large collage I made on Tyvek of fabric, papers, fibers and acrylic paints. I've been cutting it up to use for postcards, tags, ATCs, etc. My Mother used to collect spoons from every state when she and Dad traveled and when she passed, nobody else wanted them and I just knew I could find a use for them! This one was missing the little "gem" at the end, so I replaced it with a glass pebble from 7 Gypsies. Everything else is from old jewelry parts and I sewed the collage onto the tag.

Tag Tuesday - Strawberry!

New PlayersIMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky! It sends me an email that alerts me you have posted a tag!

A nice tag selection of undersea views this past week! But I'm ready to move away from blues and greens, aren't you? SO, this week we have the strawberry- one or many, your choice.

I chose a vibrant colored background, punched some leaves from an old book page and added a small piece of strawberry trim. The large strawberry is an old styrofoam one that I cut in half and attached. It's finished off with some leaves trim and gemstones.

Tag Tuesday - The Deep

IMPORTANT - please remember to leave a comment when you post your art tag on Mr. Linky!

Glad to see that so many people enjoyed using the blue and green colors together last week. Hope you got to see all the lovely tags which were submitted! Some of you mentioned the old rule about green and blue not going together ("Blue and green should not be seen"). Somehow, looking at the sky and grass makes a lie out of such a silly statement! Wonderful to see your work as artists showing that in art, there really aren't any rules!

This week the theme is The Deep - as in the ocean. This is not for the sea shore, but down under the water, so please make your tag about what lurks under the waves, out in The Deep! I promise we will make a tag about the sea shore another time.

The base for my tag was actually a tag I made with rubber stamps and watercolor several months ago, but at that time I did not like where it was going so I put it aside. I was trying to straighten my studio a couple of days ago, when I came across it again and suddenly had a great idea for finishing it. I went over the stamped images with a few markers, added some more water color details, then tore apart a piece of blue origami mesh and glued it in place. Final details include two fish charms and bits of sea shells. The eye on the large fish in the background is a small rhinestone.
